John Cross is one of the most notorious pirates of the Sea of Mortimer. He successfully captured The Emerald only ten years into his career as a pirate. It is rumored that he was able to obtain knowledge of The Emerald thanks to his time as a shipwright working for the Kingdom of Aisha.

Other than the initial story of John Cross, none else can be verified to have truly taken place. Many historians even question John Cross existing as a real figure at all, claiming he is a “larger than life character.” Indeed it is precisely the sheer impossibility of his stories that lead many, including me, to reject the basis of them altogether.
