The Buried Towers is a vast desert that lies far west of the Sea of Mortimer and the Eagle Mountains. Few have ever explored the desert and none have returned to inform us what is beyond its unforgiving climate.
Strange Dunes
Among the few reports we have of the desert, one thing remains consistent. The desert has strange steep dunes that raise up a few hundred meters above the desert surroundings. One account attributed to John Cross says that the dunes look like ”… buried towers.” The popularity of this account has lead to the desert being named The Buried Towers by most common folk and the name has since been adopted by scholars.
