Kuushu was given the task to manage the travel of those who would go between different planes. This was deemed to be a critically important task by Supreme Goddess Syntellia because of their conflict with the Echo of Antrophia.
Novad
Inter-dimensional travelers will find their destination interceded by the city Novad. Novad is an planar port city where all who seek to travel between the planes must answer to Kuushu and those that serve him. Those who travel for a frivolous reason or are deemed to dangerous are sent back to their home plane. Those who can’t pay the necessary toll are given the option to stay in Novad and work to earn enough to pay the toll. However many find Novad to be a pleasant town and make their stay more permanent.
The Toll
The toll one will have to pay to pass through Novad is an equivalent sacrifice to the intended purpose of the journey being made. Some have made attempts to deceive Kuushu about the nature of their journey, but most have come to the unfortunate realization that Kuushu isn’t known for his patience.
Security Vulnerabilities
Some have taken to smuggling people through Novad to other planes, although with extremely limited success. Others have realized that while transporting anything with sentience across planes will get intercepted, inanimate objects get through just fine.
